French composer Claude Debussy was arguably the most influential composer of the late 19th and the early 20th century. His chamber music pushed the contemporary standards of harmony and form while retaining a remarkable nuance, whether in an intimate setting or with a large ensemble or orchestra. This Opus 10, quartet No. 1 was the first in what would have been 2 quartets for strings. Unfortunately No. 2 was never written. Since his death, No.1 has become his most celebrated work for strings. Written for two violins with viola and cello, it has become an audience favorite that is a joy to perform. "Claude Debussy - Quartet No. 1" has a sales rank of 13646.
